Questionnaire on The Construction of Government Headquarters on the Tamar site
As stated in paragraph 93 of the recently released Policy Address, the government intends to reactivate the construction project of the government headquarters and Legislative Council Building on the Tamar site and is seeking the support of LegCo members (Funding for the original plan was approved the Public Works Subcommittee, which I chaired, on 7 May 2003).
In this connection, I would like to consult the views of fellow engineers on the subject. I would appreciate it if you could spare some time to answer the following questions:
1. Do you agree that the early construction of government headquarters can provide the much needed office space for the Government and create hundreds of jobs for the construction industry?
Yes
No
2. Do you think the Tamar site is a suitable location for building government headquarters?
Yes
No
3. Do you support the idea of going for a more suitable location even if it means a further delay in the commencement of the project?
Yes
No
